Caring Corporate Partner Award 2019-2020

Caring Corporate Partner Award: RBC

Our Caring Corporate Partner Award is awarded annually to a business that has made outstanding financial and/or in-kind, including volunteer, contributions to Ability New Brunswick over the last year. The recipient of our 2019-2020 award is RBC.

RBC has been a tremendous supporter of multiple Ability NB programs just as they needed strategic investments to grow. Our formal partnership began in 2014 with an investment of $15,000 in our Para NB- Sport & Recreation program through RBC’s Learn to Play initiative. With this funding we were able to purchase additional parallel sport equipment to reach more New Brunswick youth with a mobility disability and their classmates through adapted sport and recreation. We were delighted to work with 5,800 youth that year and even had RBC staff volunteer as part of the program.

In 2016, we were thrilled to receive $25,000 to continue this important work. With your support, we have certainly come a long way. This past year, over 75,000 New Brunswick students participated in adapted sport & recreation through our Para NB program. We now have 466 pieces of quality, parallel equipment that is constantly loaned out for free around the province.

Most recently, RBC Foundation has supported our Transition NB program with a gift of $25,000 through its Future Launch program. This grant will help youth with a mobility disability access post-secondary education and employment. Having just finished our 3-year pilot of this program, it is a crucial time to bring on partners like you so we can amplify what we’ve learned in all corners of New Brunswick. We can’t wait to look back a year from now and share with you how the program has grown.

RBC, we are grateful for our partnership. Thank you for being a caring corporate partner.
